Baby’s first birthday photos
Having a baby is like having non-stop reasons to take photos.
First there’s the maternity shoot, then birth photography, and newborn photos… Next thing you know, a year has passed and your baby is turning one!
It’s important to celebrate this milestone by hiring a professional photographer to shoot your first official family photos.
In the past couple of months, I got to shoot the first birthday photos of two babies, who also happen to be friends!
That’s right, little Alex and little Zayn are almost birthday twins, and know each other because their beautiful mamas are also friends.
These two Texas families are both multicultural: Alex is Filipino and Cuban, and Zayn is Mexican and Pakistani. Not gonna lie, adorable mixed babies are one of the reasons I celebrate multicultural couples!
We did baby Alex’s family photo session at the Prairie Creek Park in Dallas, Texas, which has a cute little waterfall. Since it was near Easter, his mother brought in some adorable props for the photos. Despite all the setup efforts, Alex preferred to play with the props rather than pose with them. If you’re planning a similar idea, just know that tends to happen! It’s important to just go with the flow and do whatever makes the baby happy, as that results in the best images and the best experience :)
For Zayn’s family photo session, we picked Klyde Warren park in Downtown Dallas, Texas. This popular park built on top of a highway was packed with people, so we started our session in the neighboring Arts District. This mix of urban and green spaces offered a nice variety for this little boy’s first “grown up” photo session.
I hope you enjoyed going “awwwww” at these family photos. Judging from the love their parents share, I’m sure there will be more to come…
I’ve jokingly thought of rebranding Travel Weddings to Travel Babies just so I can keep doing this every day. More cute multicultural babies my way please!
If you’re also in Texas, please get in touch if you would like an adorable family photoshoot!
