Jamie & Eric

Austin, Texas

It’s not every day that I get to take engagement photos for my BEST FRIEND!

In fact, it was such a special occasion that we ended up doing TWO engagement sessions!

Jamie Mahood and I have been sisters since high school. She modeled for me throughout my photography journey, and this was the first time I was getting her in front of my lens with the love of her life, Eric Solis.

Personally, I don’t know which session I love best so I’m including both of them in this post, enjoy :)

Engagement photos in Austin, TX:

Jamie and Eric are simply made for each other. I’ve witnessed her romantic history from the start and am beyond thrilled she finally found her soulmate. They were so sure about getting married that we actually did this first session before he officially proposed! I patiently waited to blog this session until they were formally engaged, and I am SO excited to finally share these stunning images with you!

While I was visiting them in Austin, Texas, we decided to do their portrait session at the beautiful Hamilton Pool. It was such a treat to shoot in this magical location. The emerald and turquoise water was perfectly nested in a circular cave, complete with a waterfall and stunning rock formations.

They wanted me help pick their wardrobe for this set, so I suggested we stay with the magical vibe. Their complementary green and maroon outfits looked amazing on them, with each other, and with their natural surroundings.

Engagement photos in Dallas, TX:

Jamie and Eric are world renowned tattoo artists (you can find them on IG @jamiemahood and @ericsolistattoo). It didn’t seem like a complete portrait session without capturing them in their natural style, which is typically in all black and leather jackets. So after they officially got engaged, we did ANOTHER engagement session!

We went all out the the authentic vibes for this one. They wanted to showcase being dog parents and adorable nerds together, so they brought along their fur babies and pip boys from Fallout. It was so much fun! We even got a few best friend photos at the end - thank you Eric!

I hope you enjoy the following neon-vintage set at the Fevermatic studio in Dallas, TX.

It was my absolute honor to photograph these two special souls. There was an effortless ease between all of us because ultimately they just wanted to have fun, love each other, and be themselves. Since we shot in two different locations, they have a wonderful variety of images to celebrate their love!

It is always a really special treat to do engagement photos for couples, as it allows me to create and capture special moments for them. What an honor and privilege! I would love to do the same for you too, so feel free to reach out and be you!
