Our Paris engagement
An engagement in Paris is a dream for most people, and I’m blessed to say that it came true for me.
Every month, I write a blog entry about my clients’ stories, share useful advice, and showcase my photography and videography. This entry is going to be a little different.
After numerous requests from my audience, I will be sharing my wedding story with the love of my life and now husband, starting with our engagement in Paris, France.
We are an international couple and world travelers. To properly celebrate our love and multicultural identity, we honored our union through six wedding events across three continents (and two honeymoons on top of that!). It would be way too much to share our entire story in one entry, so I will continue adding chapters to my blog over the months to follow - feel free to check back in or subscribe to my newsletter if you would like regular updates!
But let’s start where it all started, in my beautiful home city (that’s right, je suis Française).
The way he proposed was a total surprise. It was actually our first time visiting Paris together, so we wanted to celebrate with a fancy date night. We were having dinner on a river cruise along the Seine, and went out to “take pictures” as the boat passed in front of the Eiffel Tower. After snapping a few shots on my phone as the tower started sparkling, I turned around and there he was, on his knee…
At first I was stunned, thinking “no way is he proposing to me here, that is so cliche!” Yet I quickly realized that he chose the most romantic and meaningful place. I said “oui” a million times and cried the happiest tears. Paris was also crying, but we danced under the rain without a care in the world. It was the most beautiful night of our lives. We continued our evening strolling through wet streets and ended up at the Pyramid of the Louvre.
That night will forever live in our mind and in our heart, but we also wanted some images to immortalize it.
When we planned for our engagement photo session, we decided to re-live our memories by visiting these iconic sites again. My talented little sister Diane was our photographer for the day, and followed us around these amazing locations. It was extremely special to revisit this important moment of our lives and get it captured professionally through amazing photos. I also learned a lot about shooting at these particular spots (especially considering how crowded they always are with tourists), and look forward to doing my own photography there with future couples!
Please get in touch if you’re thinking of proposing, wanting a romantic photoshoot, or planning to elope in the city of love. Needless to say, I highly recommend it!
I would be honored to show you around, be your translator, and capture stunning images of you.
A bientôt les amoureux!
