A lakeside Muslim American wedding
There are certain clients that hold a special place in my heart, and beautiful Najah is definitely one of them.
About a year ago, Najah reached out to hire my photography and videography team for her little sister’s wedding. It was such a treat to meet her entire family, and we really enjoyed documenting her sister Orooj’s special day (which you can check out here). By the end of the experience, I felt like part of the family (who all think Najah and I look like twins!).
Fast forward to this year, my “twin” contacted me again to document her wedding. I was so excited for her, but devastated that I was already booked on the date she inquired. Believe it or not, this sweetheart literally changed her wedding date so that it would fit my availability! If that’s not the biggest compliment a wedding photographer can get, I don’t know what is.
Needless to say, I’m thrilled to be able to share the photos and films we created for Najah and Eric.
Getting Ready
Najah and Eric called on us to document their small wedding reception with their families and friends. Najah got dressed for the occasion in a beautiful lehenga with soft elegant touches. She spent the morning getting ready with the people closest to her - her mother, son, and two sisters.
First Look
I have to admit, I am flattered that people think Najah and I look alike. She was absolutely STUNNING on her wedding day, Mash’Allah. But I’m not the only one who thought so…
Najah and Eric had their first look at their waterfront venue, and his genuine happiness to see his bride was beyond precious. The atmosphere of Lake Ray Hubbard was quite unique for Dallas, Texas, but these two lovebirds fit the scene perfectly with their blue and gold coordinated wedding outfits. I would have happily done portraits of them all day.
Reception
The wedding reception was held inside the Yacht Club in an intimate dining area that had panoramic views of the water. They had a little stage set up for them to sit and to facilitate group photos. Eric was lined up there with his men, waiting for his bride to make her entrance. Najah’s adorable son walked in first, garnishing the floor with flower petals, and his mom followed accompanied by her two beautiful sisters.
Najah and Eric exchanged rings, listened to some heartfelt speeches, and took rounds of family photos.
Dinner was served, everyone mingled, and Najah and Eric cut their delicious cake. It was a very simple event, but the amount of love was plentiful.
