Jameeli & Muhammad

Dallas, Texas

It’s officially been a year since Travel Weddings moved from New York to Texas!

As a photographer, one of my initial concerns coming to Dallas was “where am I going to shoot?”

Most worthwhile locations were either urban (with permission required to photograph there), or big open fields which got repetitive and boring after awhile.

Over time, I found quite a few hidden gems. I want to dedicate this post to one of the most photogenic locations in Dallas: the Adriatica Village in McKinney, TX.

Before telling you about this unique place, I wanted to introduce you to the beautiful multicultural couple featured in these images: Jameeli & Muhammad.

Palestinian / French / Syrian / American, these two stunners were a treat to photograph. They introduced me to the Adriatica Village as they wanted to do their engagement photos there. This super charming European styled village was actually where Muhammad had proposed to Jameeli! It was so sweet to revisit these memories with them.

Adriatica Village is modeled after an old-world village in Croatia, complete with cobble stone alleys, unique architecture, and manicured nature. The grounds are home to restaurants, boutiques, and homes for those who want to be immersed in this oasis full time. It is a very surreal experience to be driving through miles and miles of country roads before arriving to this other world. They even have a main square area and a private lake!

If you are in Dallas and still want “travel” photography, the Adriatica Village is one of many options!

Texas has a diverse population from all over the world, so you can find almost any type of quirky and cultural experience.

Some other unique places I recommend are the Dallas Heritage Village to be transported back in time, Gondola Adventures for Venice vibes, Fossil Rim Wildlife Center for a safari, and multiple Hindu and Buddhist temples that have amazing gardens and grounds!

Feel free to reach out so I can help you find the perfect location for your engagement photos.
