Pakistani wedding videography

Rabail & Amir

Dallas, TX

Let me introduce you to a stunning Pakistani couple.

Rabail is a Dallas native while Amir, originally from NYC, moved to Texas to join his beloved. It is so special when couples fall in love despite the distance!

I had the pleasure of working with Rabail and Amir multiple times. They initially hired me to shoot their proposal and engagement photos, and later had me do videography for their Dallas wedding ceremony AND their New York wedding reception! It was a treat to shoot with them, and to keep working with them over and over.

Amir proposed to Rabail at Gondola Adventures, a cute attraction in Dallas that offers gondola and boat rides on the canals. After they finished their little cruise, we met up to do their engagement photos in the surrounding area. They were naturals in front of the camera, glowing in their joy of being newly engaged . The three of us had a lovely time getting to know each other and get a sense for how I work, which eased the experience for their wedding day.

Dallas Wedding Ceremony

Rabail and Amir honored their Pakistani heritage for their wedding.

They got married at Lal-Qila in Dallas, an intimate venue for South Asian and Muslim weddings. The day was a fun and sweet celebration of their union. Amir entered the venue with his family, greeted by Rabail’s side and the energetic beat of the Dhol. They danced around in celebration under a rain of cash specially for the occasion (you’ll see what I mean in the video). Rabail then made her grand entrance and took her seat opposite of Amir for the ceremony, the two separated by a wall of flower garlands. They recited their vows, cut their cake and fed everyone, and even took part in some traditional rituals (such as the bride’s sister stealing the groom’s shoes in exchange for a ransom). All of this before the dance floor even opened up, which as you’ll see, was a big part of their day…

New York Wedding Reception

A couple of months after their Dallas wedding ceremony, Rabail and Amir asked me to fly to New York to capture their wedding reception. It is the biggest compliment when my clients keep hiring me over and over!

Their wedding reception was at Obsession Banquet Hall in Long Island. It happened to be the coldest day of the year (10F!) but they kept the energy and temperature high inside the venue. Despite the weather, we managed to get some beautiful portraits of them indoors, and the event was filled with joy and celebration. The vibrant colors of this reception were a fun contrast to their last event!

Since they were already married, this event was hosted by the groom’s family (a traditional custom in Muslim weddings, since the bride’s family normally covers the wedding). They dedicated the night to speeches, performances, and of course, tons of dancing.

Photographing multicultural weddings is my passion, and it has been an exciting adventure to also document them through video! I would love to create a cinematic and artistic wedding film for your cultural wedding, so it can be enjoyed for decades to come.

If you need both photography and videography coverage, I currently offer complimentary engagement photos for booking both services! Reach out to schedule a consultation.
