Elopement at Bull Creek, Austin

Ghazal & Tim

Austin, TX

We are thrilled to feature the beautiful couple that helped revive Travel Weddings.

Ghazal and Tim found us through a google search for Hamilton Pool engagement photos, and stumbled upon a previous shoot we did there with the talented tattoo artists Jamie and Eric (check out their engagement session here).

Ghazal and Tim were looking for a photography and videography team for their wedding in San Antonio, but wanted to celebrate their love intimately with just a few friends somewhere beautiful with water! Instead of settling for Hamilton Pool (which unfortunately started putting numerous restrictions), we proposed shooting at Bull Creek in Austin instead. We are so glad they loved this idea because it is truly a magical place!

Bull Creek is one of our favorite places in Austin, TX, and we frequently visit it to enjoy its pristine waters and stunning sights. Getting to shoot there was incredibly special, as was getting to connect with Ghazal and Tim.

From the very start, they were some of the most gentle and authentic people we met. We wanted to plan the perfect day for their elopement and did some location scouting ahead of time to propose several spots for their photos and ceremony. We even helped consult on what they should wear, what time would be best for their friends to join, and where the best spot to go for a swim after would be. They truly appreciated our commitment to making their day special.

We finally met in person the morning of their ceremony, and immediately bonded with them. We were surprised to learn that it was their first time ever doing a photo shoot! We simply instructed them to be in love and capture it with our cameras.

For their ceremony, we picked a secluded spot on a majestic rock across the water where their friends could witness their union, while still giving them the intimacy of an elopement. They recited heartfelt private vows to officialize their lifelong commitment, Their adorable little dog Minnow was their witness, and signed the marriage document with her paw print. So cute!

It was truly a rewarding experience to dive back into photographing love stories with such a sweet couple. Getting in the water with them at the end was a meaningful reminder of the deep connections we develop with our clients. We can’t wait to document their multicultural wedding in San Antonio at the end of this year!

Here’s what Ghazal had to say about her experience:

“Tim and I were initially nervous since this was our first photoshoot ever. Jasna's warm and friendly demeanor instantly put us at ease. She became more than just our photographer; she was a true friend throughout what felt like a beautiful journey. Jasna's guidance helped us embrace our authentic selves, ensuring the day was genuinely about us and our love.
We looove our elopement pictures. They are beautiful, artistic, and definitely frame worthy. But even more importantly, the day was surreal and magical.”

If you’re looking for a photo and video team who will be as invested and excited about celebrating your love as you are, let’s connect!
